Expiry of free version set to 31.12.2002 ----------> Build 1090, Version 1.9 Protection against new group creation removed for free version. Tiny versions restrictions still apply. ############ > 22-11-2001 AutoPost - Tip: The speed of the AutoPoster can be changed also DURING autopost in the Config-Speed settings. It is NOT possible to start a second autopost as long as the first one is running ! AutoPosting/Upstream feeding: Only root & full version can feed upstream to mynews.* groups. Data-Window: LineWrapping did sometimes display headers in the text-body. (CRLF was not respected). Now line wrappig is only done if the line is longer than (max+2). Should be better now. AutoDecoder: Did add a filename to the filename database even if a multipart in UUencode) was not complete. Now the name is _not_ added to the fiename database in such cases. Root-Servers: Identification of client newsreaders by reverse DNS does no longer change the hostname if it is a mynews client. This function caused also the problem that the MyNews-NAME of the client was overwritten (and so the entire xover was downloaded again and again). Upstream feeding (and autoposting): Does now ALWAYS remove the PATH header from posts. Some hosts dont accept preloaded path headers. So this might just confuse normal users. (The result is then: "441 - Path line xxxxx ..... " ) yEncoder: Does no longer encode '.' (except in the first column) Does no longer encode TAB (ASCII 09) AutoPoster: The namelist (for selection of a job) is now sorted alfabetcally. AutoPoster: Full display dialog has been cleaned up - Looks nicer now. - Commentflag added AutoPoster: Delimits now the prefix (if any) automatically with a dash space Delimits now a following subject with a dash space (if any) ############# > 21-11-2001 Xover: Very large groups (many headers) If there are more headers in a group then XOVER can display (90.000) then the previous versions did not show the newest messages. Now MyNews displays the newest messages - but does not show the older messages. The SPY window displayes: "Too many headers. Skipping the first ###...." If you want to see the older headers then use the function "Groups-Window - Show - Show all available headers". This will start from the beginning and trucate the overflow headers at the end. Xover: BugFix: Scrollbar with more than 65000 messages. As windows32 cannot handle standard scrollbars with more than 65000 messages a magnification has been implemented. If there are more than 50.000 messages in the XOVER window then the scrollbar-data is maginfied by 10. This permits scrolling now up to 650.000 messages ############# > 15-11-2001 yDec: BugFix: Handles double dots at the line start now correctly. ############# > 14-11-2001 yEnc/AutoPost: maxbytes is now calculated as lines*50 10000 lines will be 500.000 bytes in one message Xover-Window: Usability: All progress displays do now show the status immedietaly for the first item. Previous versions did wait a long time (for slow operations) until the 100th item was handled. ########### > 07-11-2001 BugFix - Display - Expire Database: Shows now the real number of files and percentage BugFix - Expire: Expire does now also handle the !index.txt files. On busy and stable servers (yes - there are some) these files have never been reduced and did grow to a ridiculous size - which reduced the access speed heavily. Now the index file enries are checked for existence in the Main History tree - and for their EXPIRED flag. If the message is missing or flagged as expired then it is removed from then !index file. BufFix - AutoPoster: Permits now to post entire directories upstream. Previous version did permit posting entire directories only to the local server. BugFix: Reading headers with activated maximum number of hosts: Now downloading new headers is also possible. Previous test-version did just open the connection but never start the XOVER-Header-download. BugFix - feeding: Error in sending the final .CRLF terminate the feed now also properly with feed_error. Spy - Menu Renaming: "Only errors" -> "Only events" yDec: Extension: Creates now events for corrupt single part binaries: The filename is extended by xxxx(len=123456).ext or by xxxx(crc=abcdef).ext depending if the CRC or SIZE check fails. yEnc: BugFix: Does no longer write a SPACE to the end of the filename ! Repost a message: Does now use the original subject does now remove the old path does now remove the old Xref does now remove all the X- headers ########## > 06-11-2001 BugFix - UUdeocder: Does now skip the second dot if first & second column are dots. This is then a duplicated dot - for NNTP protocol. This fix should remove the 'addtive line' at the end of a binary post which was visible in Forte Agent - and also decode such posts properly. BugFix - AutoPoster: Does now double dots in the last encoding line (if length indicator is a dot) --------- > Rev 1.8 (Build 1081) --------- > Build 1081 (31.Oct.2001) BugFix: AMODE_SENDREPLY: return(0) -> return(1) when skipping FD_WRITE. This eliminates the "socket message ignored" error message ############ > 31-10-2001 Viewer window reject now pics with more than 2000x2000 pixels (if x or y is too large) Image similarity compare integrated ########### > 29-10-2001: SendFullSpeed (Articles - local): Sleep(100) removed. No more sleep now ! Should be faster now locally ############# > 20-10-2001 BugFix: Feeding: The async operation does now handle entirely the WinSock message. No default routines are called. This reduces the amount of unnecesary event-messages. BugFix: LogStop() & LogRotate(): LogRotate did create a recursive loop is a new logfile could not be created. This is fixed now. Error during log creation appear now only in the event log. ############# > 10-10-2001 Timeout during sending article (sharing): This does not issue an error-message. During article sending (sharing) the timeout is generally 300 secs. The previous version did simply close the socket - and left the file open. And the inactivity timer was not set properly sometimes. Log: Display of the amount of sharing connections (per connect) removed. - only visible in all debug display. Expire(): ReadHeader(): Reads the Headers no more case sensitive. Some servers/readers are using: Message-Id: (instead of -ID:) This should remove the "Cannot read headers" problem. Expire-Message: "Cannot read headers for the article" --> has got now a code. 1=file not found, 2=problem with the headers ScreenUpdate: Expiry of Database does now update the Screen. and permits stopping with CANCEL in the General Progress Window. ################ > 09-10-2001 BugFix: Article-Download: Extreme long lines as article-replies had a conflict with the NULL detection. Works better now. Log: "t" for every single already tried and not found msg from the download queue removed. This creates just large logfiles. MemFix: Allocated memory for username and password is not FREEd and reset to NULL. BugFix: Async Article receive: Accepts now also lines with more than 1024 chars for proxy delivery. SendArticle(): If numeric (NTX) then display now sock, group and article number. The purpose is to find the remaining 'open files' in some rare malfunctions. ############## > 08-10-2001 "Verify-Extreme" - the options has been removed from the DATA config There is a new Verify menu fucntion now: "Server - Verify extreme" Menu "Server - Kill socket" removed. Is now available in the Socket Window Menu "Server - Convert NTX files (upgrade)" removed. Not necessary from 1.7 to 1.8 Menu "MainWindow - Input" regorganised. All get marked and missing actions together now Menu "MainWindow - MyNews - Get missing articles" activated again. Main-Window - Menu "Secu" is no longer Alt+S but Alt+E First Setup rework - better selection of wanted version. Single stepping and progress display. ################## > 06-10-2001 BugFix: First Setup: Did not load the first defined Usenet host. Now the entered host is loaded to the hostlist. BugFix - Guide - Add new group: The button "Select from a list" after cancelling the selection from a list did not work. Fixed now. BugFix: Downloading a grouplist did keep the grouplist-file open. A wrong descriptor was used. Fixed now. ############## > 05-10-2001 Log: Message QueueNext: Host # %d is idle. Start now. Does now appear only in all debug mode. This message appeared now permanently whenever the number of active hosts was limited. Download-Status: Should now properly diappear as soon as all msgs are retrieved or missed. Log: Message "QueueNext: Unknown mode (299) skipped." is no longer issued. (this is AMODE_QUIT - and indicates a quitting host) TreeClose(): Additional check if the tree was open at all. Appropriate error-msg if the tree was not yet openend before closing it. Log: Timout-Messages (Socket#2: TimeOut. .....) show now the HostName of the Socket. Xmanager(): Accepts now XOVER-lines with 8000 bytes (previously: 2000 bytes) The avoids the error-msgs: Defectline (missing tabs) Even wierd xover-header lines should now be accepted. Xover-Renaming: Attempt to fix the error-msg: !Cannot rename the xover-file (code:5) Logs: Some unexpected host-replies are now cur at the first CRLF The error-message when a socket sends a final FD_CLOSE after the logical connection was already closed is now just a PRINT - no more an error. ################# > 04-10-2001 Joining UUencoded files: Issues now true error messages if a line contains illegal seperators - which indicates corrupt posts. Issues also an error if the line-counts for #2 ... #(n-1) are varying. This should not be. In both cases the defective part is temporarily marked RED in the LINES section. Severe BugFix: asBuf & asBuf2 extended from 9000 to 16400 bytes. ############# > 03-10-2001 [server] flag_maxhost=0 specifies the maximum number of hosts permitted for simultanous downloads This does not yet work properly - just a first attempt to operate on the newsfeeds.com server farm ############# > 02-10-2001 "Reload bad message" nogoes --> fixing failed ! ############ > Build 1080 01.Oct.2001 BugFix: New message "Server disappeared" caused a GPF. Fixed now (finally) ! ############### 01-10-2001 Additional Debug Info for open_error implemented - something is wrong here! ############## BugFix: Timeout during connect delivers now error-code: 19999 and a text. MyNews-Disabling in such cases checks the validity of the host-descriptor. BugFix: SaveAllHostGroups() & SwapGroups() limit to the first 50 hosts (predefined hosts where special groups are permitted) ############## > 28-09-2001 aDsp: "Found filetype: *.xxx" display eliminated - works properly now. Did create only huge logfiles HostAnalysis: Extended by missing messages list and percentage. Empty hosts removed from survey. ############## Bugfix Duplicate database: MyNews did try to add the extended filename to the filename database even if the file-followup creation was switched off. This resulted in an attempt to add empty filenames to the database. Bug is fixed now. Full names are only stored if file-followups are created automatically. Internal Cleanup: Duplicate Socket Array sSocket[logsock] has been removed. The standard socket-id-array sId[logsock] is used everywhere. ClosingSockets: async do_closesocket (after incoming '205 conencted closed') does no shutdown the connection without lingering. This give the socket ressource back earlier (for re-use). ########### > 27-09-2001 BugFix: In some rare cases MyNews did use sockets which have been already disabled in identifying incoming winsock messages. By consequent checking of invalidated entries this should be avoided now. This were two very special and rare cases. BugFix: FD_CLOSE does no longer try a closesocket() This cannot work because the socket _is_ already closed and can cause only problems. BugFix: Complete redesign of the actual download queue. Central functions for InsertItem and DeleteItem. This might reduce waste of memory and the error-messages that the download queue 'is defective' or NULL. BugFix: Grouplist & Groups per Host: The changes to the hostlist caused an access-error in the grouplist display mode (3) (special grouplist per server). This is fixed now. Crosspost-Errormessages: The three error-messages per crossposted message has been removed. From now on there is only one entry in the log for iDsp - 3 for aDsp. The amount of error-messages is too high - and no longer informative but disturbing. Whenever MyNews receives a message from a download for a second group, but the header was already in other group - then it moves the message to the group where the header was stored. The above conflict occurs whenever MyNews receives headers for a group from one host - and also headers for the crossposted group from another server. Then it might download the message from the second server for the wrong group. This is detected - and the group is redirected to the group which has already the header. MyNews does handle crossposts in a way that crossposted messages are always visible in only _one_ headerlist - in the first oen where the first server delivered the headers. ########### > 26-09-2001 Exception Handler: A specific handler was implemented to trap fatal exception of MyNews. This should avoid undefined crashes of the program from now on. Instead the Exception Handler writes (debug) messages to the spy and error-logfile. BugFix: File-Watcher: Decreases now the number of used files - and limits the search to the really open handles. (copen, cclose) Error-msg: OpenServer: Cannot access that server: .... This error message does no longer appear if a MyNews host could be accessed correctly before. In this case that host simply went offline (disappeared). Then just a simply message is written to the logfile and the connection log. No more error. This prevents MyNews from writing an error-message each time when a MyNews host goes offline - what it did until now. Error-msg: Could not rename the xover-file (after header download). This contains now also an error-code to find out the reason for this rarely occuring error-msg. Proxy-Mode-Control: Two new flags permit finetuning of Proxy-Mode (Server-Setup): [x] Proxy mode for local newsreader [x] Proxy mode for my LAN tools If these flags are switched off then MyNews does NOT TRY to download missing articles from available hosts. It immediately issues then the answer: 430 - no such article. This allows to give your local newsreader or tools in your LAN permission to get all headers, but not to all articles. This avoids also the Error message of the downlaod manager: "No servers found for download" if the server are switched off or temporarily unavailable. Later version might grant even remote users access to the proxy. (Actually they can only receive all headers - but no longer start the proxymode - which does not work properly for slower outgoing connections). ################ > 25-09-2001 Limitation: A root server will now send out only info about 100 other hosts. (In the same community [ies] ). It makes no sense to offer more hosts to a client. Limitation: Login-Results are now only buffer upo to 8 kBytes (for clients). It makes no sense to login into more than 100 hosts for a client. An error-message (Data overflow) is issued. BugFix: Proxy-Mode: The byte-counters for the client-socket running in proxymode was not incremented. A wrong counter was used. This has been corrected now. Root-Server: DiskLogging of all active MyNews Clients disabled. Makes no sense for >1000 hosts ! (Just slow - and no port-numbers are included) Minor bug: Deleting a host from the hostlist does now immediately update the window display. Former version updated window delayed at next action. ########### > 24-09-2001 Nice Look: Config - Database dialog has been cleaned up. LogFiles: Are no longer extended after illegal termination of MyNews. Instead the old file is moved to the log directory and a new one begins. It is now possible to specifiy a maximum size for the logfiles. If that size is reached then the logfile is closed, stored in the log directory and a new, empty logfile is generated. Together with "maximum number of logfiles" this allows to limit the amount of diskspace wasted with logfiles. By default MyNews leaves up to 10 logfiles on the harddisk. Maximum size is by default: 1024 x 1024 bytes ( 1 MegaByte) Host-Options: A new option for predefined hosts has been implemented: "Only headers". This options should be switched on if a host delivers only headers but never messages. These are very special hosts - almost public MyNews hosts. It is possible to access a host which delivers only headers even if that option is not activated - but it will create just unwanted traffic - because that host will _never_ deliver any messages. So activating it saves you _time_ and that host _bandwidth_ ! fDsp (File Dsp): SHows open files now also in the MAIN Window. ########### > 23-09-2001 ########### > Build 1079 LogFile: ioDsp & dDsp activated shows now the entire incoming data - including all control characters (0x00 - 0x1F AS ^@...^Z...) Binary content: A bunch of incoming articles had a line filled with hex $00 in them. This caused a stall of the downloader. Those messages could never be retrieved and stayed forever in the MISSING list. From now on the downloader skips $00 charcters. This allows at least downloading such articles. ################ > 22-09-2001 Socket-Management: Sockets for incoming calls are now resetted immediately. This prevents waste of memory. ################# > 21-09-2001 Exception Handler implemented. Should avoid GP-faults and help with debug. The downloader is now always limited to the first 100 hosts. More would be very sick. Defintion: gs_host limit to 100 hosts (still - for own downloads) Complete redesign of Host Management. RootServer can now manage up to 1000 servers simultanously ! ################# > Auto-Disabling of hosts after Authetication errors The ROOT-Versions of MyNews do no longer disable hosts after authentication errors. An entry is written to the ERROR-Log - the admin has to do it manually. Root-Servers are run by experienced people. They should know what they do. This function is just a protection for regular users. BugFix: Open files (articles) If sending of very short articles ( < 4 kB) failed, then sometimes the BASE- or ARTICLE file stayed open. This is fixed now. This reduces the amount of wasted ressources. BugFix: Open files (xover) If sending of XOVER was terminated by an error (10054) then sometimes the XOVER file stayed open - and the buffer was still allocated. Now the file is closed and the buffer is given free. This reduces the amount of wasted ressources. ############# > 18-09-2001 Local cancel messages (servercode=0) removed from the hsot-completeness check (These messages are not routed to Usenet) ################### > 12-09-2001 Sending XOVER (articles) to a remote host: This does no longer lock the !xoverloc.txt file for writing. This also allows to extend that file if new articles are coming in. Sending XOVER (headers) to a local host: This does no longer 'lock' the XOVER-File for writing. This allows to extend the XOVER file if there are headers downloaded during the HEADER file is sent. This permits future MyNews to send out the complete header list to remote clients (ewven on Internet) without blocking updates due to running own xover on that group and necessary extensions. Root-Server operation: Starting a download in proxy-mode (for a client) does no longer show error-messages if there is no host for download available (Root-Servers only). ############## > 07-09-2001 Root-Servers: "IdentError(): No Reverse DNS" - displays now the IP-address which Ident() did try to resolve. ################ > 05-09-2001 Various changes to Scheduler-Downlaod: Mode(1) is now: Ignore these messages - dont download them now - nor from others servers ! This mode is used for 'filling remote servers' only. A very special application. ServerCodes: s30=# s31=* c30=# c31=* This should now work finally. If no servercode for default Usenet/MyNews was defined, then ALWAYS the LAST server Definition was used for all other (unknown) servers. Winboxes 1&2 swapped: WInbox #1 is now "RUN" and shows Status, Sockets, Spy and Traffic Additional plausibility checks for WppS and VolumeSave (perhaps GPF ?) Default values for fresh MyNews installation changed: All debug Dsp-values are now zero. ############### > 04-09-2001 Security Manual: Selective access by MyNews name is: -servername,,,rpixgw h "DONT USE *" - this is _exactly_ rpixgw - you CANNOT Add anything there ! "KillProxy" - logentry is now ioDsp only Selective Access check via "mode mynews" does now work also with permissions. Download via Scheduler: Works now again on control.cancel. Previous versions were not able to operate on the new GetFile Format. New debug flag: flushDsp (root-server only): This flushes the Logfile all the time to disk. This is slow - but a good method to find the last actions before a GPF occurs. ############ > 03-09-2001 Sending upstream (feed/post): Bugfix for display of kBytes in the connection line. (Value was far too high - now real value is used). Async Connection Fail: The following FD_CLOSE (in some special cases) is now ignored, but an info is issued to the logfile. DownloadServerError(): Additional error msg if the socket was already free'ed (Double free in some cases ?) Status-Display: Root Servers are now displaying the number of simultanously open files. Log: "FD_READ without data encountered....." - now with a CRLF in the logfile. Downloading of lines with > 1024 chars results now in an error-message. (Such posts are highly unreliable). Previous versions showed the message only in AllDebugDisplay mode. Reminder(To Manual): The LogFile is flushed to harddisk at each print-command if the 'ioDsp' Flag is activated. This allows better error analysis at GPfaults. Error-Handling during feeding: If the fed host closes the connection unexpectedly then in some cases the 'feed is active' flag stayed on. This prevented MyNews from starting the next feed by scheduler. Fixed now: MyNews will report "Feed: Unexpected disconnect" All files are closed and a reduced feed file is created for next feed attempt. ########### > 28-08-2001 AutoPost- Time wrapping (subtracted seconds) now fixed. Test version did produce 65535 as 'second' ############ > 16-08-2001 AutoPosting: 'Truncate sorting prefix' implemented. This functions posts files with a sorting prefix by using it as a subdirectory in the posting name: sort123--original.jpg is encoded as: begin 644 original.jpg ################ > 29-07-2001 Root-Server-Operation: Disabled hosts are no longer delivered to clients at LOGIN. This prevents the root server from offering a hostname to others which the root server cannot access itself. This is now mainly necessary because such hosts cannot be verified - and not verified hosts should not be delivered to others. Bugfix in Order or Proxy-Start: If a MyNewsHost has already an uploading socket open then MyNews does not start downlaod from it. This is now fixed. ############### > 26-07-2001 Error-Message: OpenServer(): Cannot access that host...... Changed. Name from the host entry is now displayed at the end in square brackets Bugfix: Two direct assignments to asHostName[] replaced by strdup ######### > Build 1078 - 19-07-2001 Timeout in Connect or Waiting for first message (200): MyNews did send an FD_CLOSE _plus_ made a second call to 'failed connect'. Now the FD_CLOSE is no longer sent. PrintArticleSubject(): Size of local buffer extended from 1024 --> 8200 bytes per line. Extreme long Newsgroup-Lines have been truncated. ResetAllSockets(): Sets the asHostName[] now to NULL; FreeSocket(): Lets now the asHostName unchanged. This eats up a little memory, but the name stays visible in the Socket-Window until the socket is used again by another host. cmalloc(0) delivers now also a pointer. Previous versions did deliver NULL, which could cause trouble in special cases. ########## > 19-07-2001 Bugfix: Mixup in Header-Numbers (Verify detects sometimes 'number goes back): * Changes in XoverLocal (which did modify the working header-counters for local sending XOVER) * Changes in XmanChangeXover (which did earlier replace the 100000+ line count) * XmanGetMsgId (which is used during ORDER-Commands - and Proxy Operations) * XmanAddNew (Updating a group with an Xover) is now again a blocking operation. No other operations are permitted here - because the XOVER-Header-File is blocked here ! Test-Display "Article in another group" moved to aDsp Feeding: Does no longer feed mesages with subject: cmsg .... to MultiFeeds. Does no longer feed messages to groups mynews. to MUltiFeeds. Not very ynice, just hardcoded. It is actually not possible to feed other MyNews servers with these msgs ! ########## > 17-05-2001 ########## > Build 1077 BugFix: The allocated memory watcher caused a GPF if more than 10.000 items were allocated. Fixed now. MyNews (root) atches only up to 10.000 mem-items. Bugfix in 'Verify'. print(buf) --> print("%s",buf); Whenever a header line contained a '%s' then the C-Runtimesystem tried to print a non-existing string. Typical C-Programming bug. Fixed. (Appeared only in the new verification routines) ############ > 05-07-2001 ############ > Build 1076 (03-July-2001) Feed-Security: A true feed (multifeed) is no longer permitted with POST. This one uses now ALWAYS ihave. Just root servers can use this - dangerous - option. And their owners MUST NOT feed Usenet this way. This option is for own backup & own special servers only ! The default feed - which runs always with POST - does never ROUTE articles. This one is activated only for local posts. AutoPoster: Guided AutoPost implemented. It opens a bunch Dialogs to enter ALL the necessary data. The direct selection is still available. If no existing data is used (old job) then the default upstream host, the default eMail and the actually selected newsgroup are used as defaults. AutoPoster: Delay of one second per post removed. MyNews creates now own Dates which go xxx second BACK from the actual date. If you post 100 pics (or 1000 locally) then The actual Date is reduced by 100/1000 seconds for the first post, 999 for the second... Until the last message has the actual date. (This is a little bit tricky, but necessary to keep the sequence of the posts even in a date-sorted message-lsit-display) ############ > 03-07-2001 BugFix - Incoming posts Additional headers get now also CRLF instead of LFonly. All imported headers are now also CRLF. Incoming posts without CRLF are now converted to CRLF format. BugFix - Reader: If MyNews creates own messages with the internal reader then it adds the PATH-Header now. (Former version relied on the Usenet-host to create it). IHAVE-Response: 438 MyNews interprets this response now as 'dont try again'. Watch/Kill-Filters on the reference header (watch/kill answers) A new token has been added to the filter file (local/global): R+ @myname.winews.net> R- @mynews.winews.net> The filter scans the references section. If you add this filter with 'R+ @yourname.winews.net> then all replies to your messages are downloaded or filtered. Watching answers to own posts (experimental feature) The (new= option): "Watch answers" in the Config - Filter tab allows the same thing for _one_ (your) hostname. Additionally this one adds such posts to a special list. The GroupsWindow - Show menu has now the function: Show watched answers. This is a survey of all found headers/messages by this watch function. The same strategy as for "edit loadfile, missfile and upload file" is used here. The ~watchbox is only a virtual folder. The corresponding file is located at: mynews\data\watch.txt ########### > Build 1075 ( 27-06-2001) BugFixes: Some Memory-"Eaters" have been removed: Status Display per socket. FileName per downloaded message MsgId per downloaded message Group not present in dld Message not present in dld Now the amount of 'vanishing memory' should be minimized. Notice to Manual: If the Autoposter is run with allDebugDisplay ON, then the thumbnail window is NOT hidden automatically. This must be done manually. Cancel Autoposter after Thumbnail creation: In this case the created thumbnail sheet was deleted from the source directory. Now it stays there if the 'allDebug flag' is activated. BugFix: Timer-Flag for feeding/autoposting messages was not resetted. This caused timeouts/hangups on autoposts/feeds. Now fixed. Bugfix: AutoPoster creates now posts with CRLF instead of only LF. There seems to be problems with some Usenet-news-hosts. ############ > 27-06-2001 Bugfix: ReadBag: Converts now files with only LF as line delimiter to CRLF Bugfix: Feeder: Inactivity Timeout closes now the sending queue. ############### > 26-06-2001 Setup: The default value for "Include history into normal expiry" is now OFF. Free versions can create only 100 groups. ! Free & Tiny versins cannot download groups from other MyNews which are not shared ! AutoPosting > 20/100 messages (ALL) is still restricted to Full version BugFix: Upgrading from old group lsit does now create the group directories. This is necessary for the very first installation from the delivered group list. ################# > Build 1074 (20-06-2001) BugFix: Xover - "Move Message" did no longer work on database articles. The new CRLF fdormat was not used in the Evaluation of the headers. Fixed. BugFix: The 'Logout at all hosts' did show always the same hostname. Now the hostname is properly changing. New Reader-Function: Xover - Post - Repost message upstream ----------------------------------------------------------- This function will repost the actually selected message to Usenet: The subject line is automatcially extended by: (repsot signal) The 'From:' is replaced by the default or special Mail-address of MyNews/the group. The original sender is included into the headers with: X-Orig-From: xxxx@yyy.zzz The 'Date' Line is updated. A new 'message-id' is created. This functions maks it _very_ easy to repost messages to Usenet. However it is recommended to use it carefully. Flooding the Usenet with reposts is not a solution to the problem. Far better would be that the users with bad feeds get MyNews or simialr products. Status: Root-Servers have got an additional status-line: "Memory Blocks: ####" This monitors the amount of memory (in blocks, not in size/bytes) which were allocated my MyNews. This should help to detect "unwanted memory eating side-effects of special functions". ############### > 20-06-2001 BugFix: MyNews will now respect the 'Create file followups' setting.
